Ruvi Lakmali Herath who in the recent past had become a popular actress in the Tel Drama field is an unassuming model from Bandarawela who had portrayed roles in most number of TV commercials, but yet many do not know her that she has also acted in a number of popular Tele
drama’s, Appended below are some facts of her not known to many.:

From where are you and what news about you?

“I am from Bandarawela who attended Visakha Girl’s College in Bandarawela up to the Advanced Level. I am the only girl having two elder brothers.”

How did you enter the Tele Drama field?

“I was dreaming to become a dance teacher while in school. After I was crowned the “Sirikatha” Avurudu Kumari in the Uva province my entire destiny changed. I was invited for TV commercials and a number of Tele dramas.”.Initially I was invited to portray a role in Aruna Jayawrdena’s Tele dram “Adareeniya ihinaya”.Then in the mega Tele dramas “Tharumalee” in Swarnavahini, “Hiru Thani Wela” in Hiru TV and in Tele dramas “Mosum Sulang” and “Vihanga Geethaya” telecast in the ITN and Rupavahini which were concluded in the first three months of this year with around 55 episodes each as leading main characters.

We constantly see you via TV commercial advertisements. What are they?

‘’I had received several invitations to portray in several TV commercials.The repertoire of commercials include Kelani cables, Denta kids tooth brush, Iodex”konde ruda”, Singer plus, Keels sausages, Lucky yoghurt, Marmite, Watawala ran kahata, Beautine beauty capsule, Maliban white chocolate puff, Bajaj, Singer A/c, Wonder light, Southern express highway rest area, Pureit water purifier, Lanka soy and more recently Tiki baby soap and Kotagala kahata.”

Who was behind you for your success?

“It was initially my mother who encouraged me. I need to remind her although now I live in Colombo with my husband. But I still make it a point to call my mother several times every day to find out how she is.”

Are you married?

“Yes I am married. I married to Nakul Prasad an Assistant Director of a reputed television company over a year ago and live together in Colombo. “
