Media of India reports that President had to hang around during his Thirupathi Pilgrimage without driver
New Indian Express and India Time News Service have reported of an incident where President Maithripala Sirisena who was on a pilgrimage to Thirupathi Kovil was forced to remain about 12 minutes in his motor vehicle
because his chauffeur had been missing.
President Maithripala Sirisena, his wife, son and members of his family who participated in a special pooja held early last morning at 3 at the Thirupathi Temple had after finishing those activities got on to the motor vehicle when they were faced with this unanticipated situation. As the chauffeur was not to be seen there the President and the group concerned were compelled to remain there for a period of about 12 minutes. Until the chauffeur returned the security unit of the temple had to provide security to the President and afterwards the security of the kovil managed to find him while inside the kovil itself.
The President and the group had found lodging at a luxury place belonging to Thirupathi Temple and the President and the group had gone to the temple early last morning at 6.30 to attend a another special pooja , it was further reported. Whatever it is, the Thirupathi Kovil Security Personnel has informed that no permission has been granted to other persons to enter the temple when a distinguished person is within the temple.
An investigation is underway by the security unit of Andhra Pradesh in relation to the incident that occured, reports say.
