Looters of Ambalangoda 18 lakhs nabbed!

An incident was reported yesterday where a lady who was taking Rs. 18 lakhs 80,000 in cash notes from a Sate Bank with the idea of depositing that money in a private bank was ambushed in broad

daylight at a public place at knife point. 

As a precautionary measure she had asked a boy who was a relative of hers to escort her. On retrieving the money from the State Bank she was in the process of approaching the said private bank and when crossing the road near this bank two individuals who had come on a motor bicycle had scared her by pointing a knife at her and had thus made their escape with the money. After the incident she had gone to the police accompanied by the relative-boy. On that occasion however the police had become suspicious over the boy's comportment and had then interrogated him at length. On that occasion he had become frightened and had exposed the truth. He had revealed that he had given a tip off to two of his friends and it was he who had summoned them to come and plunder the money. As such the police have taken action to take the persons connected to this incident into custody.
