Sri Lankan couple who narrowly escaped the Bangladesh siege

Sri Lankan business couple hospitalized from the Bangladesh siege for remedial of  ”trembling”

It is reported that a number of Bangladeshi nationals  and expatriates who were held hostage,   kept on house arrest after the siege by a group of Islamic terrorists  who ransacked and shot at the  people who were in a restaurant in Bangladesh  the other day were released. Among them were a Sri Lankan couple who have been in Bangladesh engaged in business for a number of years.. It is said that the couple had been engaged in a lucrative business and

been in Bangladesh for some time.

It is also said that the Sri Lankan couple were used to visit the Holey Artisan  hotel and bakery  in Dhaka Bangladesh on most days of the week to have an Italian dinner.On the day of the incident the Sri  Lanka had arrived at the Dhaka restaurant only around 9 pm which was much later than their usual time and the delay had been owing to the fact they have had to attend to an important issue.

The terrorist attack had been launched at around 9.30 pm unfortunately they have had the dreadful experience of watching the terrorist attack up to  about 8 am the following day. The two had watched how guests were killed and the manner the terrorists were firing gun shops to the air. This nasty experience no one on earth would like to face as it was terribly appalling. Until the last moment they were wondering t what moment they would be shot and killed.

On the morning after 8 am with the advent of the Commando force of Bangladesh the two had been able to escape from the lethal hands of the Islamic terrorists. The two were suffering from “trembling” and had to be admitted to a hospital for treatment and for a bit of resting.  Luckily the two had not sustained any injuries. The related personnel of the Sri Lankan embassy in Bangladesh had visited the hospital to see about their health. Owing to strict security reasons their names had not been disclosed.

Although the Sri Lankan couple escaped without been killed half of those who patronized the Holey Artisan restaurant had to sacrifice their precious lives at the hands of blatant Islamic terrorist. All Sri Lankans are grieving for the series of events that occurred and for the loss of precious lives.
