Island wide strike of Doctors for four hours tomorrow

It is reported that doctors are to stage a protest strike on the 04th instant for a period of four hours from 8 am to 12 noon requesting the related authorities of the government to revoke the private medical college in Malabe.

This protest strike which is to be Island wide has been informed by those at the centre for opposing the existence of the Malabe private medical college. All doctors, nurses, all technical staff and minor employees are to participate in this four hour strike

. However the channel service in the afternoon would be as usual would not be affected.

The unions and associations that would lend support  wholeheartedly would be the All Ceylon medical council, All Ceylon Ayurvedic medical council, All Ceylon nurses association  and All Ceylon suva seva society. Dr Jayantha Bandara the convener of this  Island wide strike had  added that these members of the associations would participate addressing a media briefing.
