The quaint State Festival where boards of protest got on stage!

The State Drama Festival this time was held at the Western Province Aesthetic Resort on Friday evening and on that occasion drama artistes who expressed a protest during that period had portrayed their protest in a creative, new system. They had made all drama artistes wear black bands and on the occasion when award-winners stepped on stage an individual carrying a board of protest had made his access to the stage and after displaying it had subsequently got down and walked away together with the award-winner. There were the following among those slogans:

'President ... are you aware that there is something called a cultural life also?'
'Prime Minister ... is the Field of Arts to be eaten?'
'Thenuwara ... break open the cave door and come out'
'Education Minister ... drama is not relevant, isn't it?'
'KB ... whose is the fault ... who else's?'
'Is the government scared of ignorant people?'
'Anusha Gokula ... aren't you happy now?'
'Even 0.3 officers can't eat from the vote for the Arts'
'Why is the State so disgraceful?'
'If you'll are like that ... we're like this ... like it?'

Those who organised it said that the the root cause to start this protest was that the government has not given any importance to the drama festival this time and it was earlier scheduled to be held at BMICH and later, steps were taken to hold it at a small hall which is hardly known to most people.
