Rikitha Kodithuwakku speaks about Handagama's film

Actress Rithika Kodithuwakku who enters the cinema as a new addition in the cinematic creation named 'Ege esa aga' which is the latest creation of Ashoka Handagama portrays a semi-nude scene and what she admitted at a newspaper discussion recently was that she
engaged in her role of acting with great pleasure. She further says that she had prepared herself well after understanding what appeared in the script and that people in her home showed no opposition for engaging in a semi-nude performance of this manner.

The ideas expressed by her in this connection is as follows:

* How did you get an opportunity to give of your contribution to the cinema creation of 'Ege esa aga'? How was the response?

I got a chance of being connected to this film on an invitation received from Manju Perera who functioned in the production field of this film and also Amal Alwis who was the Co-director. To work under a prestigious Director like Ashoka Handagama is indeed a fortunate thing. At the same time a big challenge. I agreed to accept that challenge. In my opinion I believe that most people like this creation.

* Was it after going through the script of the creation 'Ege esa aga'?
   Yes.

* Were all the scenes in this film stated in the script?
   Yes.

* Didn't it occur to you that accepting a script which has semi=nude scenes is a challenge?
I am an independent girl. Shooting was well organized. At no time did I feel any embarrassment. From the Director down to every member of the workforce gave their fullest co-operation for me to build up this character.

* Was permission granted from home for you to contribute your part in this film?
People in my home have understood me well. The other thing is I am an independent character. I have the right to take decisions in my life.

* When you are connected to a role of this sort won't society look down upon you with a look of askance?
This is a cinema creation. It's not I who is there. It's a different character. People must be intelligent enough to understand what is in a character that lies behind a script. On the other hand a a cinematic creation of course need not be confined to one particular framework as such.

* What kind of character is called Rithika?
Just like the others I too am a normal character.

* Have you studied about the cinema?
Not studied anything at all about the cinema. I actually got connected to this film too just by chance as it were.

* Rithika ... are you prepared to work as a professional actress?
I am not an actress. Not still decided whether I would remain in this field right along. But if I get an invitation for a good cinematic creation and its script is okay .... at the same time if I like it; I'll accept it.
