Arjuna files legal action against employees who tried to expose his house of ill-fame
Minister Arjuna Ranatunga has filed legal action against 3 trade union activists in port for having circulated rumours that he is involved in running an 'anthakpuraya' of women. This is how he explained
about it:
"During the past few days I was not in the island. During that period, Udeni Kaluthanthri, Lal Bangamuwage and Prasanna Kalutharage have circulated an absolute bogus rumour across the media about a story of furniture production at the carpentry unit of Bere Wewa of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority. In that instance the three of them have expressed ideas that the furniture being produced at the said carpentry unit were productions manufactured for an 'anthakpuraya' in a manner that defamed my character and caused me insult.
The said goods were those that were manufactured for the necessity of the Ports Authority. Therefore I have sent the three of them a letter of demand regarding these false rumours and the humiliation I was subjected to. I requested that a sum of Rs. 500 million be claimed from each of them for the insults targetted at me. These people have become hurt at the time I and the Chairman took steps to put a stop to this robbery. It's a normal thing ..."
