The driver of a van that crashed on to a wall and fled caught and arrested

In the Malliappuwa area in the Hatton police division along the Hatton Colombo road a driver

of a van had crashed on to a parapet wall had fled.The van and the parapet wall had been damaged.

The van with passengers had come at a high speed and crashed onto a parapet wall.A few had sustained injuries and admitted to the Dickwella hospital.But the the driver without making an entry in the police station had fled.Owing to this reason the police had been able to apprehend the driver after making a search.

The driver S. Jeyadaran had added that the crash had taken place as had fallen asleep on the wheel.One injured child had been transferred to the Peradeniya Teaching hospital.

It had revealed that there had been 11 passengers in the van which had travel led from Katunayake air port and were on the way to Haputale.The passengers had returned from India.After the accident the rest of the passengers had gone to a relatives house in Kotagala.

The driver is to be produced to courts today.
