Increase in VAT causes the bus fares to increase from July

The President of the private bus owners association Gemunu Wijeratne  addressing the media had added that because of the increase in the VAT up to 15% had caused a great impact on the private bus industry owing to  the prices of

spare parts going up.This had caused "pissu hedena" feeling among the owners of private buses.

In this context an increase in the bus fares should be made he had added.However according to the national bus fare agreement the bus fare hike cannot be mate immediately.As it is due in July the increase in bus fares in private buses would be made in July he ahad added.
