Mahinda's wedding ring vanishes ....
when shaking hands at wedding!
We are informed of an incident where former President Mahinda Rajapaksa had faced a strange incident last week when he attended
a wedding ceremony.
The former President attended a wedding ceremony as a special guest held at a five star hotel in Colpetty last week and he had spent a longer period of time unlike at other wedding occasions as he had no other engagements on that day.
Mahinda had been cordial to those who approached him by holding hands with some persons and had exchanged a few words with some others by shaking hands with them. Consequently when he was preparing to get back home once again, he had noticed that his expensive gold ring had vanished. Immediately he had notified the security personnel with him about this mishap and in turn they had got down to searching it, creating a sort of big uproar in the hall. When one group had begun to search within the hall another group of security members had searched for the ring in a nearby toilet.
Even after about 20 minutes had elapsed, the ring was found nowhere. Subsequently the suspicion had crept into the minds of the security as to whether someone had stolen it and they had realised that it was not a possible task to search for the crowd one by one at the wedding by putting them into inconvenience simply for the sake of a ring. In the process a particular security officer managed to locate the ring fallen down on the red carpet just two or three tables away from where Mahinda was seated. Mahinda who was in a sad mood because of this mishap, once again happened to bring on a ray of happiness on his face and after putting the ring on his finger, had then left the wedding hall.
