Huge dry sprats scam at CWE surfaced

It is reported that a  huge Vat tax  scam has been surfaced  from the CWE. This is regarded as the biggest fraud in the annals of our history. The

investigations in this regard are still been conducted.

This scam has happened during the period of the previous government when CWE had imported rice, big onions, dry sprats and other consumer items. This massive fraud amounts to more than billion ten thousands it is reliably reported.

These have surfaced when investigations were carried out at the Presidents Commission for huge  frauds and corruptions. On the pretext of offering redress to the farming community dealers  from Pettah had been sent to meet the farmers to purchase their crops at low prices and are sold to the CWE at higher prices. The secretary of the Presidents commission Lacyl de Silva had divulged to the media.

It has revealed that the officials of the CWE had benefited by this exercise of purchasing consumer items at lower prices and selling to the CWE at much higher prices. The  officials of the Presidential commission  had revealed that instead of offering redress to consumers what had been done was the officers to benefit financially.

When the investigations were ongoing the President's commission had advised to transfer from the services of five higher officers and a lady officer from their services at the CWE. One Officer has with the influence of a powerful Minister has been able to creep into his ministry.

As the investigations are been conducted several other transactions with regard to purchase of consumer items had surfaced. After the preliminary investigations are completed several former politicians are to be questioned it is reliably learnt from the officials of the President's commission.
