Drivers and Riders prosecuted for breaking the carriageway rule

From the 26th instant strict rules were laid for drivers of motor vehicles and riders of motor cycles to strictly adhere to the proper carriageway rule on the Galle road  and from Jayanthipura junction Battaramulla to Colombo Fort. It was announced that any driver or rider who flouts the road rules would be prosecuted.

Accordingly on the first day itself the traffic police had been able to prosecute 725 drivers and riders against whom traffic cases had been filed it is reported.
