The allegation of offering Rs 05 lakhs as he could not bear defeat denied 

A party in the election of the Dalada Maligawa Diyawadana Nilame contest has made an absurd allegation that for the difficulty to stomach the defeat that he had offered rupees five lakhs to obtain votes from Buddhist monks.This has been totally denied by the newly elected Diyawadane Nilame

also the former Diwadana Nilame Nilanga Dela Bandara. He had strongly criticised this tale.

In this regard the elected Diyawadana Nilame has accused the Buddhist monks of Awkana Raja Maha Viharaya for this very hurting allegation.

For an important Buddhist matter like this election ,the Diyawadana Nilame Nilanga Dela Bandara was furious and extended his deep regret over the issue.
