Via mistaken identity an innocent stabbed

An unfortunate stabbing incident has been

reported from Galle area. A group of persons who have had a grudge with another group had wanted to encounter them. While a person similar to one of those was returning home after work these persons had been coming in a three wheeler when one person like the person who was in that group had come along the usual road.By mistake the wrong person had suffered injuries.

The person who suffered this unfortunate incident is a resident of Badulla and had been employed in a hotel in Galle,Devata area and was returning to his residence around 11 p.m after completing his duties.

At that time six persons had come in a three wheeler and had stabbed on his head.The port police post had been able to arrest these six persons who are residents of Ratgama Reggipura.On questioning it has revealed that on an earlier occasion when this gang had been returning from Welle Devalaya the other day have had a conflict.

They had mistaken that this person who was stabbed was one of those who was involved in the earlier conflict.The port police unit is conducting investigations.
