I IDENTIFIED KRISHNA AS THE PERSON WHO ....

CARRIED THE CORPSE IN THE SUITCASE

THERE WAS A CONNECTION BETWEEN THE TWO

- JAFFNA WOMAN'S MOTHER GIVES EVIDENCE

A host of information relating to the killer was exposed by the mother at the post-mortem of the woman whose dead body was found packed inside a suitcase at the bus-halt down Bastian Mawatha

in Pettah which incident created a sensation sometime back. The mother of the deceased 33 year old Dharmarajan Kaththika living in Vadukkoddai, Jaffna  had this to say:

                                                              "I have 2 daughters. The deceased is my eldest daughter. She got married to Arumai Rasa Rangan living in Kokuvil, in the year 2011. They have a daughter. Her husband drinks a lot of arrak. There were problems between the two of them. Because of that they separated. He then got married to another woman and went abroad. The child was brought up by a relative of the husband. After that in the year 2011 my daughter started a liason with a person called Krishna. He was living down Marandamadu Road in Manippai. It was with him that she lived.

About an year ago he went to Colombo. As my daughter also was called, she too went there. I don't know anything more about Krishna. I even don't know his full name. The last time my daughter spoke to me was last 28th. That was before 2 days before her death. She said, 'mother ... I bought a gold necklace and a ring. Now I am living without any trouble. Now there's hardly any problems'. After that it was only on 30th morning that I came to know that my daughter had faced a problem".

The suspect over the murder has still not been taken into custody by the police. The police are conducting further investigations over the incident.
