SANATH JAYASURIYA TO THE UNP!

Former Deputy Minister Sanath Jayasuriya who took to politics on the invitation of Mahinda Rajapaksa and was a staunch supporter of

Mahinda and had even conducted his activities in parliament seated side by side with Namal Rajapaksa at a later stage happened to join the UNP this evening.

Former Member of Parliament Sanath Jayasuriya attended a function held by UNP candidate of Matara, Mr. Sagala Ratnayaka this evening and pronounced that he would be giving his support to the UNP at this election. The UNP supporters welcomed him with open arms on this occasion. He however did not appear for this election. A few days before this the media had reported that even Sanath Jayasuriya's mother had participated at a political rally of Sagala Ratnayaka of Matara.
