WASIM'S ELDER SISTER OR ELDER BROTHER .....
DID NOT OPPOSE EXHUMING THE BODY
- JUDICIAL MEDICAL OFFICER
Wasim's elder sister Aifa Thajudeen and her husband including the elder brother Asfan Thajudeen who assembled on that occasion did not show any
opposition for identifying the body of rugger player Wasim Thajudeen when his body was exhumed yesterday. They admitted and confirmed that it was their brother's body that was exhumed.
What Udaya Gammanpila, Wimal Weerawansha and the crowd on the side of former President said during the past few days on the political stage was that members of Thajudeen's family were against the body being exhumed. However, members of Thajudeen's family who were present at the time the body was being exhumed yesterday did not show any such opposition.
A question posed on the Judicial Medical Officer who came forward to express his ideas in that connection was "was there any influence or interference on exhuming this body from the side of the family or any other party?" This is how he responded to that query: "No. There was no such influence. There was no obstruction or opposition from anybody in the family. Before starting this activity we had a discussion with members of the family. They showed no opposition".
