Request from President asking Kumar Sangakkara .....

   to take up position as High Commissioner of UK

The President Maithripala Sirisena made a request at the ceremony held at P. Sara Stadium this afternoon where Kumar Sangakkara was to say adios to Test Cricket inviting him to take up the position of High Commissioner

of Great Britain. He has not still given his response in this connection. The President even presented him with a souvenir. Even Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasingha attended this occasion.
