About the advertisement with President Maithripala in national newspapers- A statement from President:

On the 10th instant in all national newspapers the President Maithripala Sirisena had posed for a UPFA advertisement waving his hand which had aroused a lot of criticism from the public particularly from the anti Mahinda Rajapaksa factions.

People have fresh memories in their minds that the President Maithripala Sirisena vouched for the fact that he would not join with the former President Mahinda Rajapaksa in any of his campaigns, will not speak with him on stage  and he was furious and disliked his ways of administration etc.

However in this regard the media unit of the President’s secretariat has added a media release that an explanation would be offered in this regard shortly as why in contrary why President Maithripala Sirisena broke his promise which was made in a very stern manner.

The Mahinda Rajapaksa had used the photograph of President Maithripala Sirisena to gain a distinct political advantage  and a huge mileage which concerns the anti Mahinda Rajapaksa faction.
