CIFL Director Deepthi Perera remanded

During the past regime the Director of CIFL financial institution Deepthi Perera who had misappropriated a sum of Rs 800 billion from clients and had fled the country was arrested by the police and produced to the Magistrates courts and was ordered to be remanded. His bail application was refused.


He had fled the country in the year 2013 after he had misappropriated Rs 800 billion of finds belonging to clients. The Police has issues red warrants to the Interpol to arrest him .But he had secretly returned to Sri Lanka from Malaysia yesterday. He had been arrested yesterday when he was produced to courts.

Deepthi Perera is a resident of Akuressa and is also known as Chulaka Gunawardena.He had been ordered  by the courts to be remanded until the 14th in.
