Courts grants permission to obtain stock exchange transacting information of the top heads at Derana

The Colombo Magistrate has granted permission to find all details of the stock exchange transactions

of Dulith Jayaweera,Varuni Amunugama and the former Chairman of the Stock Exchange Commission Dr Nalaka Godahewa.

The police media spokesman Assistant Superintendent of Police Ruwan Gunasekara had quipped the permission to go into details of the transactions made by these personnel was given on the request made to the Colombo Magistrate in this regard.

It has been reported that during the previous regime there had been many irregularities by lowering stock market dealings. The stock market shares, increasing at regular intervals, pre auctions and various other disparities that had taken place while transacting internal business.

The police financial fraud investigation unit needs to scrutinize all past records to ascertain the amount of irregularities that have been committed.
