Dialog Company refuses to furnish all details of mobile phone of late Thajudeen
The popular Ruggerite Wasim Thajudeen had died inside his car burnt near the Shalika sports grounds on the 16th
May 2012.
It was suspected that he had been killed and was burnt inside his car.After the new government came in to power this case was again taken up to be investigated.
The death was due to a murder and the media has reported that the former president’s son Yoshitha Rajapaksa has had a hand and he is suspected to have masterminded the murder owing to personal reasons between the two.
In order to facilitate the police investigations, the police had requested M/s Dialog mobile provider to furnish details of calls and conversations late Wasim Thajudeen has had using his mobile phone prior to his sudden death.
The request has been made to the authorities of the Dialog network. On behalf of the mobile Dialog network the attorney at law of the Dialog mobile company had informed courts today the 2nd instant that all details would not be possible to be given.
However, the lawyer of Dialog institution had informed courts that details of calls for three months prior to the date of the incident could be provided and not all the details as they have been destroyed as obsolete and redundant. This information the Dialog institution has conveyed to courts this information via an affidavit.
The Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Peiris had made a plea to the Dialog institution to render every assistance to the case in question.
The case is to be heard again on the 10th of September.
