Upul who threatened to stone officers of Police FCIU to CID today:

The other day at a Sri Lanka Freedom Party meeting held at Tissamaharama the provincial council

Member of southern provincial council D.V Upul had uttered that those officers from top to bottom in the Police financial frauds investigation unit who are harassing the former president Mahinda Rajapaksa would be stoned to death under a future Mahinda Rajapaksa government.In this connection the criminal investigation unit had summoned D.V Upul today to question him.

However the provincial council Member Upul had denied later that such a statement was made by him.He also had said that he never invited media personnel to come for the meeting.He also had said that he had doubts about the video that was shown and also that it had been tampered with and it is distorted version of the real video.

It is also reported that courts have called for the original video clips  from the respective media institutions on this incident to clarify the issue.
