Beware-Eye deceases in Colombo and suburbs
Infectious eye decease called “viral conjunctivitis” is been
spread in Colombo and in many other parts of the Island. Eye surgeons have warned everyone to be alert as it is infectious.
The symptoms are eyes becoming red, tears and mucus draining from the eyes. The eye surgeons has cautioned those who have these symptoms to immediately give attention by visiting the Colombo eye hospital of any other government eye clinic in the island.
Such persons have been asked to take precautions by covering the eyes with a handkerchief and travel as it is very infectious and it could pass on to others. They have been asked not to stay in places where people have congregated. Those affected have been advised by doctors to wash their hands properly once they arrive at a destination or home. Those contaminated with the viral decease are advised to refrain from travelling until the symptoms disappear.
