The road behind Ananda College Colombo named after Sarath Fonseka

In parallel to the 6th year of war victory celebrations the road beside Ananda College Colombo has been named after an old boy who had contributed immensely for the triumph as the chief of Army then. The road has been named as “Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka Mawatha”. The road is that joins the Ananda Mawatha Colombo 10 and the Ketawalamulla lane is the road behind Ananda College.This provision has been made possible by the Mayor of the Colombo Municipality at the request of the President Maithripala Sirisena.

There had been about 30 houses on the two sides of the road constructed in an unauthorised manner. They have been evacuated and given alternate houses in Granpdpass,  Thotalanga area to live in authorised permanent residencies.
