Dileeth of Derana claims 200 billion rupees from Raja Mahendran of Sirasa via letter of demand

network Dileeth Jayaweera has sent through his lawyers a letter of demand to the Sirasa media network for publishing a news item pertaining to him. This has caused a huge damage to his personal character via this very defamatory news item relayed about him.

Through his letter of demand a sum of rupees two hundred billion has been claimed as damages from the working director of Sirasa media net work Raja Mahendran and journalist Faraz Skawketly.

The reason was that the Sirasa channel had picked up some facts from a speech Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe had made in Parliament and from some newspaper articles on certain incorrect statistics had been made in the news bulletin compiled by Sirasa media channel with other motives. These information revealed are far from any truth had caused Dileep Jayaweera his client a huge embarrassment as a prominent businessman the lawyer had added.
