Similar tactic adopted by Mawbima owner Tiran as Gota by submission of FR petition

The Colombo special crimes division after

conducting investigations on complaints made on corrupt activities of Member of Parliament and owner of Mawbima newspaper Tiran Alles.After completion of the investigations had revealed all details surfaced to the Chief Magistrate, Fort.

He is alleged to have pilfered donations granted to build houses for Tsunami victims.He had misappropriated huge sums of money on behalf of his Company Radar who was supposed to build houses. Instead he had without building houses and used the funds for his personal businesses.

After completion of the investigations his advisor and the second in command of his Company was taken into custody. But he was not taken into custody.

In the meantime as his arrest in imminent he too had adopted the same tactic as the former defence secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa in filing a fundamental rights petition with the Supreme Courts. This was again to protect him from been arrested.

In his petition it has been said he had been serving as the only as the Chairman in the Company as non chief executive officer in the year 2015 and was not responsible for any misappropriation of Tsunami funds received by the said Company as he was not responsible for any projects that were undertaken.
