Be cautious in around Panadura from Influenza fever
Influenza fever of the A H 1 N 1 (2009) type is reported to be spreading in various parts of the Island. This has been cautioned as an awareness matter by both the Health
Ministries’ sources that govern and monitor health activities in the country.
This infectious flu had been spreading in India and in several parts of Sri Lanka. It is reported that the patients who acquired influenza and treated at the Panadura hospital is branded as Influenza fever of the A H 1 N 1 (2009) type and not ‘bird’ flu as suspected. This had been confirmed after investigations on patients were carried out at laboratories of Influenza at the medical research institute. The consultant specialist of the influenza related deceases Dr Jude Jayamaha had confirmed.
In this context about 400 samples of blood collected from patients in hospitals around the country and instantly investigated for any symptoms other that Influenza fever.
Dr Jayamaha had quipped that patients with fever accompanied with cough, phlegm, body aches loss of appetite should consult a reputed medical practitioner or a specialist as various complications may prop up.The advice of the consultant physician Dr Jayamaha is for everyone having a cough should use a tissue and after travelling in buses to wash hands and to focus attention on cleanliness. This is as many are prone to be infected.
