Former Minister Basil Rajapaksa who is presently being
treated at the paying ward of the National Hospital having been remanded has suddenly faced a heart attack and after being admitted to the cardiac unit has now been brought back to the paying ward, Western Province Council Member, Nimal Lansa had told the media today.
The magistrate has been kind enough to order Basil Rajapaksa who was reported as free from any ailment at a previous court session to be admitted to hospital instead of being sent to jail. However, the magistrate has instructed that at the next hearing of Basil that the health reports of the latter and the other three who are with him be once more inquired into and forwarded to courts.
