The former minister of Cooperatives and Internal

trade Johnston Fernando has been granted bail by the Kurunegala magistrate courts when the case was called and heard.

The release on bail had been considered as the Attorney General had not objected for allowing his bail application made.

The bail had been granted on payment of rupees twenty five thousand- in cash and three personal body sureties amounting to rupees twenty five lakhs each.The former minister was arrested for non payment of rupees fifty two lakhs worth of goods taken from the Sathosa.
