Basil further remanded

Former Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa and three others who were remanded on

the orders of the District Magistrate Kaduwela Magistrates courts were produced to the same District Magistrate courts today the 05th instant. The Magistrate had ordered them to be further remanded.

The order was made when complaints made into the alleged massive amounts of money misappropriated from the Divineguma department accounts. The Secretary to the Ministry of Economic Development, Dr Nihal Jayatilleke, the former Director of Divineguma development department, R.A.A.K Ranawaka. And a former Director, R.P.B.Thilakasiri was also ordered to be further remanded.

 All these persons were also involved with the alleged misappropriation of large sums of money from the Devineguma department accounts during the tenure of the previous regime.
