“I cannot betray the 63 lakhs people who made me victorious, no wish and urgency  to meet Mahinda” - President

The president Maithripala Sirisena had made a statement to the presidential secretariat media unit that

although the Mahinda’s faithfuls are endeavouring to have a meeting with him he does not have such a need and a necessity in that regard.

In the statement it has been quoted as he does not consider it as an essential meeting but had listened to the SLFP supporters as only for courtesy sake as the President of the country and as also of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.By giving into such a meeting he would be losing the trust of the people who voted and made him President. He had said he would not betray the people who voted for him the notice revealed. This is annexed below:
