Toy pistol Mayor Eraj arrested
The Mayor of Hambantota Municipal Council
Eraj Ravindra Fernando has been arrested on the charge for abducting a suspect in police custody in the year 2014.He has been arrested by the police this morning.
On an earlier occasion he had shown a pistol and chased away a group of UNP supporters. Later it had been reported that the pistol was only a toy pistol.It is learnt that Eraj had been a close friend of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa and been the Mayor of the Hambantota area the police had been very lenient on his actions.
