Mother dies unable to bear son’s grave illness, Son dies soon after

It is reported very sadly from Eriyagolle area in

Rambukkana that a mother who had been weeping looking at her son’s grave illness had succumbed to death after she had fainted having been unconscious.

The mother who had died has been Y.K.Kiriamma, 70 years old and her son Y.K.Gamini, 45 years old. The two deaths have been reported on the 28th instant.

Y.K.Gamini has been treated for a long time for the dreaded decease cancer and had been brought home after treatment. The mother Kiriamma had been weeping and shouting looking at her son’s condition. While she was crying by the bedside of her son Gamini she had been unconscious and fainted. She had been admitted to the Rambukkana hospital and doctors have pronounced her as dead before admission.

When the relatives had returned home from hospital and informed the son Gamini he had got a shock and had died in a few minutes.

The two bodies are now lying in their Eriyagolla residence and the last rites are to be conducted tomorrow at the Kiriwallapitiya public cemetery.
