The release of girl sentenced for scribbling Sigiriya frescoes delayed due to her appeal

The girl who was sentenced to two years for been found to be guilty of damaging the Sigiriya

frescoes by scribbling was given ‘pardon’ by the President. However owing to a legal barrier with regard to a petition submitted by her the Minister of Justice is unable to release her from prison.
