Letter of Demand for Rupees 141 M sent to UPFA by Minister of Transport
During the presidential election campaign for hiring buses of the SLTB a sum of rupees
141million due to the Ministry of Transport has not been paid by the UPFA. At a special meeting of the Ministry of Transport officials had with the Minister it has been decided to send letters of demand to the general secretaries of the SLFP, UPFA and the secretary who acted to coordinate transport activities for the presidential election campaign to recover this huge sum owing to the SLTB.
The Minister had quipped that if this sum is recovered the SLTB could pay the arrears of salaries to the employees.
