The increase in Mahapola Schloarship is a hoax - Convenor, Najith Indika

The convenor of the Inter University Student’s Federation Najith Indika making a statement to the

media had refuted and squashed the news that the government had increased the Mahapola scholarship allocations to university students. He had added the information is hoax. He had reiterated that the Rs 5000/- increase made by the previous government had been pruned down to Rs 2500/- by the present government.

Addressing a media conference in Colombo yesterday the convenor of the IUSF, Najith Indika had said that no provisions had been made by the Treasury to meet these payments. The Chairman of the University Grants commission had written to all the Deans of the Universities, the Professors and all related officers on the 1st instant in this regard.
