whom Sri Lankan  rupavahini viewers know quite well as giving life to the character Thulsi in Mahagedera Mala story had gone to a dress outlet and having entered the changing room she had noticed a CCTV recording there and had informed the police,  thus creating a hulabaloo.

She had gone with her husband  and other members of her family to Goa in India for the purpose of spending a holiday there and had stepped into this dress outlet known by the name 'Fab India' almost at random when she happened to face this mishap. When she was changing her dress to consider whether the clothes she was going to buy were satisfying to her when she had noticed the CCTV camera fixed on the other side of the room made her immediately dismiss the act of changing her clothes and instead complained to authorities of the shop and police as well.

The police arrived when she was remaining there and on checking the cameras it was revealed that the shop authorities had used a degrading strategy to record undressing scenes of females for sometime. Three members of the staff of the shop were taken into custody by the police in relation to this incident. Later they had sealed the shop. When interrogating the technician concerned, he had said that he had given instructions to fix the camera from outside and to direct it so that it stands about one foot high inside the room so that it cannot be seen, in a way that it is directed downwards.

Minister of Human Rights Development in India Smriti Irani had said that there could be enough of shops like this in India and that this is another example of harassment to women and that she would fight on this behalf.

In relevance to this incident, scenes of her changing her clothes has not been recorded on that recording machine and before undressing as she had noticed the camera on looking around, the said camera has caught her eye and therefore that incident had been avoided.
