of Universities have announced that even on the New Year day students in 05 campuses are on the roads performing ‘Satyagraha’. These ‘Satyagraha’s are for various reasons and demands.

Administrators make attempts to sell the education; education has been made a commercial item. The student’s indulge in Satyagraha protests even at the expense of visiting their homes for the traditional New Year on the 14th.It is to reiterate the administrators that they insist on these shortcomings to be rectified.

The days the Satyagraha’s are continued without a pause in the 05 campuses are:

The continuous Satyagraha at the Open University has lasted for 119 days.

The continuous Satyagraha at the Ruhunu University has continued for 48 days

At the Sabaragamuwa University it has lasted for 38 days.

At the Sri Jayewardenapura University it has continued for 28 days.

At the Kelaniya University it has lasted continuously for 28 days.
