For former president’s election campaign at National Lottery Board expense

It has been revealed by the Chairperson of the

National Lotteries board Shamila Perera that almost the entire presidential election campaign had been borne by the funds of the National Lotteries board. The amount had been arrived at almost rupees twenty billion.

These funds had been drawn from the account of the development fund.It has been revealed that 75% of the funds in this development fund account had been drawn for this purpose. The funds amounting to six hundred and fifty thousand lakhs had been utilized for the development of video films ,for advertising truck vehicle used for advertising. The balance money had been utilized for publicity rally’s and for musical shows at Hambantota.

The Chairperson had quipped that all expenses incurred would be reported to the Ministry of finance, to the corruption and bribery commission and to the Elections commissioner for misusing public funds for the presidential election.
