Why should I resign? - Asad Sali

Wimal's 5000 didn't turn up at Nugegoda Why should I resign?

Those who organized the rally at Nugegoda
yesterday was highly displeased with the Central Province Member of Parliament Asad Sali who said that he would resign from parliament if over 5000 people would attend the rally.

Parliament Member Wimal Weeravansha said that the crowd who attended the rally yesterday was not 5000 but 5 lakhs. Gammanpilla on the other hand told the audience that from today onwards Asad Sali is finished where politics is concerned and even if he continues with politics, he would only be a walking corpse. As such, whether Asad Sali would bid goodbye to politics or not has become a point of doubt and the media inquired about this from him.  This is how he replied: "Now of course there's no necessity to give up politics no. What was said didn't come to pass no. What I said was that if Mr. Weeravansha could bring a crowd of 5000 for this rally .... that I would give up politics. Wimal Weeravansha's 5000 didn't come for this meeting. This is not a political meeting .... a racist meeting. We saw Bodu Bala Senawa releasing their news. Ravana is depicted in Ravaya over the Facebook to come to Nugegoda on the 18th to rescue Kuragala. This is a racist meeting. People of this country cast their vote against racism. Mahinda Rajapaksa was defeated against people being assaulted .... because the minority is assaulted. Therefore, the organisers should be taken into custody for accommodating racist groups into one place".

The following video shows Asad Sali making a statement that he would resign if 5000 would turn up for the Nugegoda rally.
