The wedding celebrations show which began last

Friday at Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall was declared open by President Maithripala Sirisena's daughter Chathurika Sirisena. She and her husband Thilina Wewelpanawa, Co-ordinating Officer of the Ministry of Defense too attended the ceremony. This happens to be the first instance when the President's daughter Chathurika participated in a celebration of this sort after the new regime came into power.
