When Indian Prime Minister Mr. Shri Narendra Modi inclusive of his emissaries came to Anuradhapura to pay homage to Ruvanveliseya

day before yesterday (14), seeing Anuradhapura District Secretary Mr. Mahinda Seneviratna clad in shoes in the Ruwanveli Maha Seya compound (maluwa) not only surprised the devotees but even made them feel disgusted. Though the Indian Premier, President Mr. Maithripala Sirisena and other Ministers removed their footwear and came to pay homage to Ruvanveli Seya amidst pouring rain, attention was drawn to the sight of Anuradhapura District Secretary walking across the compound of Ruvanveli Maha Seya wearing shoes.
