SLFP made to succumb by accepting Minister portfolios in National Government - Wimal

Wimal Weerawansa, leader of the National Freedom Front called for a special media conference at the NFF headquarters in Battaramulla. Addressing the  special media conference on the 22nd instant just after the names of SLFP Members of Parliament were sworn in as Cabinet Ministers had this to say:

He said all those who accepted the posts of Cabinet Ministers have done a injustice to all those SLFP supporters who had voted for them in the recently concluded presidential election.By this what the President had done was to make SLFP as the tail of the UNP based government.

He emphasised that Maithripala Sirisena was made President by Ranil,Sambandan,Hakeen,Anura, Champika and others as the fact remains that Ranil Wickremasinghe would never be able to form a stable government on his own with the support of the UNP alone.This ploy was adopted and adhered to as a government formed in this manner could not be rattled easily.

By implementing this ploy the national government is firm and could win majority votes to have bills passed and would not be defeated if motions of no confidence are surfaced.The other reason is that a national government of this nature cannot be criticised.He also added that how allegations and criticisms be directed against this type of a national government.The opposision is also theirs,the government is also theirs.He also said that the government now could remain any longer by licking the bones of these Ministers and keep the supporters tied.

This is manner this deal would yield results according to his views. He finally had said that politics wise this betrayal made is of very huge magnitude.
