If Mahinda wants to contest,to receive nomination should notify the electorate and the seat of his preference in his application - Nimal
The leader of the opposition Nimal Siripala de Silva has
categorically stated that in the event former president Mahinda Rajapaksa wishes to contest in the forthcoming general election he will need to forward his nomination form first.In it should be indicated the district and the electoral seat clearly he wishes to contest was added by the Leader of the opposition.
He emphasised further that this is the usual procedure of the SLFP and no one has not been nominated as the Prime Minister.He reiterated that the names of Ratnasiri Wickremanayake, Mahinda Rajapaksa or D.M Jayaratne has not been nominated yet as Prime Minister.
He also aded that there are attempts by unscrupulous elements to break the SLFP into two having conflicts within the party.He also said that all members of the SLFP should remain strong and united.If the party splits then the clear advantage would be for the UNP.In this context there should be no division within the party he added.
