Former Ministers who had to go to the Opposition ....
when friends became Ministers
Yesterday became a special day in the political
history of Sri Lanka because a National Government was formed with a combination of the SLFP and the UNP. Because of this change, the number of SLFP ordinary members of parliament who relinquishd their positions of Ministers during the past once again were recipients of the same position while former SLFP Ministers who were left out had to sit in the Opposition. Among these were several of those who had embraced the Opposition on their own while there were as well as those who had to sit in the Opposition.
Among former Cabinet Ministers who have had to appear from the Opposition while their friends are spending their time enjoying privileges are as follows:
