Incidents after President Maithree victory!
Mr. Maithreepala Sirisena received 6,217,162 votes at a percentage of 51.28 from the total number of votes cast at the Presidential Election held in the year 2015 was appointed as the new
President of Sri Lanka as revealed by Election Commissioner Mr. Mahinda Deshapriya this afternoon at the Election Secretariat.
Mahinda Rajapaksha got 47.58% (57,68090) while the other candidates managed to secure a percentage of 1.14 only. The new President Mr. Maithreepala Sirisena took his oaths in the presence of Supreme Court Judge Mr. K. Shri Pavan at Independence Square in Colombo today (8) at approximately 6 in the evening.
Later, Mr. Ranil Wickremasingha took his oaths as the new Prime Minister. About one-fourths of the members of the former Cabinet was scrapped off and a new Cabinet is to take their oaths.
As promised, it is the belief of the masses that the 100 day Action Plan of President Maithreepala would be launched from tomorrow.
Though there is news that as in the past when devolving power, former members of the government media by now are trying to grasp power as reported, according to principles of the new government, instead of media chiefs of political parties, it is understood that those who are suitable only are to be kept above at their right places.
The Common Opposition it is seen have taken steps to prevent a recurrence of the bitter consequences Sarath Fonseka had to face in the past after the 2010 Presidential defeat and Sarath Fonseka too is a staunch contributor in this respect.

What they say is that that their process would be congruous to the Party.
The situation of the country has to a large extent been peaceful after the elections and CaFe Organisation say that 3 post-election violent incidents have come to their notice;but those incidents too could be considered as incidents of a minor nature.
Well-known astrologers, Sumanadasa Abeygoonawardena, Mapalagama Wimalaratna and Chandrasiri Bandara are among those who predicted a win at the 205 Presidential Election for Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksha. Among them Chandrasiri and Mapalagama had vouched that they would shoot themselves or commit suicide if the President is not victorious.
