Rape of British Woman at Kohuwala Guesthouse

British national raped .... at Kohuwala guest-house!

A British lady who took lodging at a guest-house where foreigners are accustomed to familiarise often had been raped! The said guest-house is located in Kohuwala area in Nugegoda.

According to the police report, this British national had participated at a party held at this guest-house in the weekend in the company of several female colleagues of hers.

Having taken liquor during the party, she had later dozed off on a chair.

Subsequently, since only a few attended this party, some of them had gone out while some others had retired to their rooms and those who came with her had left her and proceeded to other places on which occasion a worker of the guest-house had dragged her and after laying her upside down naked on top of a bed had subjected her to rape.

Though this lady who was partially conscious at this stage, has had no strength to protest against what took place. After coming back to her senses with a shock, she had said that her female friends had been searching for her and had asked her why she was naked.

It was only later that she had mentioned about what she could remember to the police.

The police who hospitalised her and obtained a report had taken steps to arrest the guest-house worker concerned on the statement given by the lady. However, he had responded by giving a statement that he is not connected to such an incident.

As such, after producing the suspect-worker to courts, the Magistrate informed that in order to find out about this rape-incident, a DNA report should be furnished and forwarded on 23rd.

Police inquiries in relation to this incident is underway.
