Failed rape attempt in Borella

Mother assaults when robbers who entered Borella house tried to molest daughter! Things go wrong because of toy pistol!

An incident is reported from Borella where 2 robbers who entered a luxurious house had created a big scene and had tied up the occupants and then having stolen some pigeons had attempted to molest the women there. However, on that occasion when it was realised that the robbers had brought a toy pistol with them, they had beat a retreat when the householders had begun to yell.

The house concerned had belonged to an Administrative Officer of a private firm and he together with his wife and children having been living there. The two robbers who came to the house last Thursday night had frightened the householders with a pistol in their hands and threatened them asking not to shout.

Later, they had scared the husband, two sons and a relative who were there in the house and had put them in a room and then taken steps to tie them up while they had put the wife and daughter inside the toilet and closed the door.

Subsequently the robbers had proceeded to ransack the cupboards and almirah in the room and had stolen watches, telephones and cash amounting to close upon Rs. 2 lakhs. After that the two robbers who went upstairs had been able to notice a large cage of pigeons. Of the 120 pigeons there, they had stolen about 60 of them. Later, one robber had developed a desire of committing an offence by approaching the mother and daughter inside the toilet.

Having gone towards the toilet aiming the pistol in the hand, on getting close to committing the planned offence, the mother had wrestled with the robber and had ultimately thrown him off balance thus foiling his attempt. Realising that he is unable to bring her under control, he had then approached the daughter in the toilet and had dragged her outside with the same motive and had tried to molest her too. The mother at this moment had come from behind him and dealt a thumping blow with her fist at which moment he had got thrown and the pistol in his hand had broken in two, thus confirming that it was only a toy pistol.

At this moment the mother and daughter who were able to dispel all fear about the robbers had started yelling with all their might for the whole neighbourhood to hear, asking for support.

It was on that occasion that the robbers have fled realising that it was useless to remain further inside the house as a consequence of the problem they faced a while ago.

It is not reported that anybody had come for the support of these householders who were yelling.

After the incident was reported to Borella Police, they had been successful in apprehending the culprits and the police say that two drug addicts have been engaged in this robbery.
